Well, now @Cedars, just WHY do you want to wash your car's engine ..... ??

It won't hurt it to get dusty on the outside ...... ;)

Besides, just how much time do you spend looking at your engine bay .... ??

I realize this is your "mistress" and you want to take care of her proper ...... so, I recommend you treat the engine like we would a French mistress, back in the day, ...........just wipe her dry and change the fragrant oils every now and then........

Ha ha humfrz, thing is out here its a desert so you get a lot sand particles and dust going into the engine bay so its always good to give her a good scrubbing every few months her being the mistress an all :) Ive always washed car engines with hardly any issues normally ( there was a time my scirroco 1975 didnt like it and worked on 3 cylinders not 4 for a while :() my only concern would be the electronics but this is a Toyota not a Kia :) so im pretty confident doing it. Cover up the cars computer with plastic and fire away. Does a world of good out here, gets rid of a lot of dust and sand, and on older cars cleans the oil spills so no burning oil smells etc. Ok buddy I'll take your advice and wipe her down with perfume (at low pressure)

Someplace on here is a full set of instructions on what to cover and how to cover it. There are several things involved. On my phone so hard to search or I would have pulled it up for you. Worth looking at if you can find it t.

Lol at the amount of effort people put into a 25k car.

Well now, back in the day, ..... in Europe, those girls didn't want to dry out their skin by bathing too often ...... and they figured that the perfume oil, mixed with their body chemistry, to create a unique "scent".

That, along with the hair under their arms and hair on their legs, took some getting used to.

A few warm double-bock beers followed by a few shots of schnapps, helped with the "getten used to"......... :happyanim:

C'mon man. Everyone knows that less soot in the tailpipe means freer flowing exhaust for an extra 5 horsepower. :bonk:

Lmao, you act as though we actively clean the tail pipe only, while your spraying down your wheels with wheel cleaner you spray the same stuff in the tips it takes like 5 seconds.....

I hear that ...... sort of ..... :laughabove:

However, I do swipe off my SS "horn looking" tail pipe tips on my Nameless muffler. I first hit the bulge on the left front fender with a micro-fiber towel, then hit the windshield with some Invisible Glass cleaner then then swipe off the inside of the tail pipe tips.

Now, from where I sit, I have a clean car ...... and when I walk away from it and look back at the rear end of the car ..... it's still clean .......

No it does not, and if it gives you a sense of satisfaction, then more power to you.

If I have an hour to spare, I would rather spend it trying to figure out how to complete a task on the Molvo (1973 Volvo on a 1996 Miata chassis with a 302)or whatever car building project I am working on at the time. I just don't get any sense of satisfaction out of having a clean car. Probably why I seem to get rid of them when they are done!
