Backup cam question
My new BRZ Ltd has navigation. Can I add a backup cam to it or will I need a new head unit?
BTW...dealer has a new SD card on order for me. Someone stole the original. |
yes you can add a backup cam to it

Does anyone know if there are wires pre... wired (?) from the head unit to the trunk? What I mean is if I buy a cam, do I have to wire all the way from the cam to the head unit, or is it plug and play with a connector hiding somewhere behind the panels in the trunk? (Mine's a BRZ Limited)

Some are plug and play.. to your headunit. So you still need to wire it through, but it's pretty easy.

Thank you for the info! I was hoping that was done, but you can't have it all. Unit is prepared it seems, so I'm hoping it's plug and play. Subaru Scandinavia puts Pioneer units in instead of the standard one unfortunately, but it should work fine with this one too.

There's a lot knockoffs out there so be careful where you buy it and to make it worse the only way of tell if you have the real one is to actually connect it.
We've ordered from this vendor and they've been the genuine ones. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GQTYG3Q"]Amazon.com : Rydeen RYD ZH07150B Universal Mini Camera, CMOS III NightVision Technology : Point And Shoot Digital Cameras : Camera & Photo[/ame] You have to run the wires to the back of the car and splice into a 12v for power. |
Man i need something like that for my BRZ. Its a pain to keep opening the door to look back when im parking. Anybody know who can install something like this on my BRZ around north jersey?
