Paint Protection Film

Was in an accident recently and my FR-S got totaled. Gonna buy a new one and since I'm a bit wealthier now, I'd like to invest in paint protection film. Anyone had any experience with this? What are the costs/who's good etc.

Thanks!

YES do this. Get X-pel. I did my whole car with the 3M brand stuff. Best investment you can make.

I read that the 3M stuff was really hard to apply. Given that I share a house with a bunch of people (meaning I won't have a garage to myself), I figured it would be better to have the professionals do it. How was your experience?

Yeah get a pro to do it for sure. Worth the money. It took them a week to do my whole car so I guess it is hard to work with but IDK. I know now that xpel is better as you can remove swirl marks on it with rubbing alcohol

My BRZ is the 3rd car now that I've done Xpel paint protection for and I was never disappointed. It such a relief if you're OCD like me with keeping the front end clean from rockchip and such

Joe from Capital Autobahnd does good work with the Xpel film if you're looking for someone in VA. http://www.capitalautobahnd.com/

When I bought my BRZ I had 3M applied to just the front bumper, so there would be no lines (like half-way up the hood, etc). When I had it done, the car was so new that there were no computer templates for it, so the cutting was done by hand. That let the film go all the way up the edges of the bumper rather than being 1/8" away.

EDIT: I love it and it has saved my bumper a few times. It's totally worth getting.

Get it. My windshield is like dotted with micro cracks when my bumper is still good as new.

I would even say it's the best investment I made on this car.

Give Dan a call at Mach V Motorsports in Ashburn/Sterling area. He has a guy right in the same area he is that does all his cars. Sorry I don't know the name of the shop, but Dan will hook you up.
