Just another 450whp Turbo FT86 -- and NOW 530hp
Post 230 has 530hp plot.
The fuel used is E55 (55% ethanol blend). The turbo is a Comp CT4x-5862 and tons of room to make 600whp+ on the setup, but for now I fee like 450 is "plenty" for the daily driver. Lower graph is what the car made completely stock. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-0...42/16.5psi.PNG https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-s...2/IMG_0093.JPG Dyno pull video:[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9GBpa0Q3uo"]FR-S turbo dyno pull - YouTube[/ame] |

Stock internals? If so may the force be with you..
|
Yup, all stock. Just put in a clutch this weekend as 12psi on E40 destroyed it in one pull.
|
I shall pray for your rods and stock wheels/stock size tires

Yea, hope you got some stacks ready for "supporting mods"
Nice though |

> 450whp > stock internals http://www.planetdeadly.com/wp-conte...-explosion.jpg Though in all seriousness OP, I'd be surprised if those internals hold together with that much power. The FA20 doesn't have a stellar 2JZ-like reputation above 300hp. Good luck to you and your car though! |

Other pioneers were running 500+whp on stock internals for a good amount of time before they decided to build. However, there have been people that blew their engine at less than 300whp. Roll the dice. |
I think thats the people always racing it even on their daily drive haha peace xD

With a good tuner it should be reliable enough for street use. 450 HP isn't always the same too. With E55 I'd guess you'd need something like 25-30 PSI to pull that kind of number almost on our local dynos. What boost is it pushing out?

16.5psi. What dyno are you using that you need 30psi to make 450... one that baselines the car as 90hp stock? Or are you at 10000ft elevation? lol |
Yeah sorry I was figuring numbers off an engine that was built. Hence lower CR. 105kw or so is roughly what a stock car will do locally. So yeah your's isn't to far off what I'd expect. I just get real sketchy when anyone (especially American Dynos) posts numbers. I didn't look that close to the dyno since it was imperial. Should of I guess. We've had tuners here post numbers that are simply not possible. And I expected the usual 20% higher dyno figure+all the other dodgy things people usually do for the internet numbers. Sorry about that. Just a jaded person making assumptions.
On another note I personally know guys who run around that 3-400kw range and have done so for years. As we've all seen, the guys who can't tune are still blowing engines to this day. Got spare transmissions ready? |
With a good tune, and not raping on the car... 450whp isn't too much of a gamble.
|
OP did you have an 8th gen Civic Si?

When you see me post a sheet I will either have a time slip or a baseline dyno as context for the vehicle/work/whatever -- hence the baseline in the OP. Random sheets with no context are absolutely worthless. And I do understand what you're saying -- apparently 300 is the new stock fuel system go to figure on some dynos... except on ours 250 and you're done, anything past that you're just a little lucky (we're talking 5-10hp). Even running it a little crunchy for the sake of seeing what this motor of mine will take doesn't get you anything (lol). Quote:

Jesus 900hp Civic? Whats that running. I can imaging that it is somewhat scary to drive. I just say American dynos since in Aus mainline or dyno dynamics are the only dynos generally available so they are all fairly similar barring people screwing with them. Yeah and thats been seen here too with the limitations on the stock fueling. About 200kw is possible on a less safe tune but 180-190 is more realistic.

Had a little fun this weekend:

Looks like we got 500 with a completely maxed out fuel system on E76-E77 fuel! Popped a boost leak during this pull too (blew the CPC hose under the manifold off lol).
The ACT 6 puck doesn't like holding ~400tq, had to ramp the dyno in faster to avoid the clutch letting go (which it did once). https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E...18psi_nowm.jpg Time for a fuel return and/or even larger port injectors? (currently the 900/1000cc Deatschwerks). The pressure drop from the in tank pump is quite evident at the higher boost levels. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-G...maxed_fuel.jpg |
Any updated street "closed course" pulls on ~450hp? The other pull video you have is only ~10psi.
Awesome numbers btw! |
This thread will last as long as the transmission.
Then it will be in the massive pile of "oops I broke the sh*tty transmission and there's no good alternative to it" threads |

Not bad at all man, especially on factory tires. Making very good power. Some real tires would be really nice.
Are you running the stock 4.10 rear as well? Your gears seemed a little longer, but its been a while since I've driven mine so I don't recall the MPH limits of each gear. I thought 4th topped at 100 but you hit 108 in 4th I believe. As for the trans, we will have real solutions very soon. Multiple shops are working on t56 swaps right now for 2016 release. Once the 86 gets a real transmission for a bolt-on swap, we are going to be seeing a lot more higher HP builds. |
Yes it's all stock. Car runs a 7800 limiter and likes to use it. Might just bump it to 8k lol
|
I have seen those Mexican roads before! Nice work!

It was so weird in America with those Card paid Bowsers that fill themselves. I had no idea what to do when filling a car there.

I'd keep it at 7450. Power falls off really fast after 7k anyway. |
THere's like a 15hp difference between 7000 and 7400 rpm... I would hardly call that really fast drop off. The overall average power with more revs == faster car ;)
|
Power doesn't always fall off. Mine keeps rising like a supercharger. I think I got my Limiter at 7600. Simply because I don't want to have to deal with Valve float issues and whatnot.

this car makes me wanna turbo charge even more
