i really think before you go stating what you are saying REALLY educate yourself on his background... just saying.... I don't know vit personally, but he has tuned a friend of mine's civic so I know his work. But even one tune doesn't speak for ALL of his work he's done.

I am well aware of all his Honda accomplishments and I applaud him in the Honda field. I also give him credit for his software that is really nice. But if he thinks his car will live forever on his tune pushing 500hp that shows he needs to do more home work. I love the way he goes on the attack when you don't agree 100% with him on his FA20 tune. I was just reminding people there is a flaw or should I say a weak point on the FA20 and a tune won't help it.

+1 for vitviper. Looking to get your tuning madness one day, but i'll have to drive out to you.

All bullshit aside, it's the next best thing to a cat shot and it runs smooth as silk.

Enjoyed driving this car last night. I wasn't kind to it - and it loved every second.

I have absolutely nothing worthwhile to contribute to this other than to laugh at the irony of putting up a gif with a Tomcat going off the cat based on other aircraft on the deck. The fact that there is an S-3 there means that could be an F-14A with the infamous Pratt and Whitney TF30.

The TF30's at a high AoA are like a FA20 in the power ranges you guys are talking about.......it's only a matter of time.

I never doubted VITS tuning abilities, only the reliability factor of a FA20....
Thanks for your input brother......

It's a test platform. Gotta crack some eggs to make an omelet.
When it grenades I hope to get eyes on it. My money's on the trans before the engine, though. It's truly over the top.

One thing that we've discussed, for all the weight savings, this chassis is remarkably rigid.

500hp at 15 to 16 pounds may I see a dyno graph on such a accomplishment that's impressive.

You know I'm not going to get in a huge debate with you, I could care less, only 2 facts remain
1 you keep pushing 500hp on a stock motor and you will be paying the piper at some point.
2 I told you last time I would gladly come to your track line up next to your monster FRS with no traction control only on a boost controller and show you tail lights. I'm even willing to put 1000 up to win and another 1000 saying at no point will you ever be in front of me.
I'm sure this is where I will start hearing the crickets sing just like last time....

I will be in Cali in June would love to have you come down to the track there....

Let me drive the turd.... no lift shift all things

This thread is full of dyno sheets. There are plenty of tracks in my local vicinity if that's what I'm so inclined to do. Putting down 500hp on the street is a joke, zero smoke. The right tire will hold that power level and much more, lol.

What are you running on your car, 205 tires made out of a rock compound and peddling your car like Fred?

You really should see what the bullshit coming out of your keyboard reads like in the real world, it's not remotely possible to take you serious -- it's troll level bullshit.

OFT is garbage. We use ECUTek exclusively unless people want to step up to my MoTeC M150 programming.

Right now the car is down on E20 as I've been driving it in areas where there are no E85 stations, so making about 12psi of boost (~340whp). The car made ~490 on 17.8psi running out of fuel on E77 before I installed the fuel return and the clutch slipped on the dyno.. 15-16psi makes 460-470whp (Over "500" at the crank for the trolls as our stock baseline is 150whp here on the 200hp rated car).

The ONLY reason this motor doesn't see 18-20psi now that I have a fuel return is the clutch (ACT 6 puck) doesn't hold 400wtq+. I'm at the limit of the clutch -- and as it's a street car, I'm not really interested in stepping up to a twin at the moment.

I've said this a few times to the "borrowed time" comments -- who cares? This is an R&D car. If the motor pops, sweet, then I'll crank it up to 650-700 on a built bottom end. Til then I'm enjoying the car and we're getting a lot of useful feedback and we can see how things fair for your AVERAGE FT86 owner that daily's the car and wants to enjoy some "big" power from time to time.

Yes - it was remarkably easy to drive it sideways with zero fuss.

Look man talk all the mad smack on me you want I offered to settle it on a track and all I get is the sound of crickets, and at the same time no one cares about crank hp numbers. so next time you tell everyone that you make 500 "CRANK" hp and have 12k on the setup be sure to let them know you detuned it to 340 whp on the street......

So I gather from your post you hooking up 500hp never really happened, its your clutch slipping, and you never really made 500whp.

You Claim 500hp on your post on page 2 but after you enlarge the pic it says 480ISH SO if I have read this right you make 340@12 psi 460 to 470@15 to 16 psi and 480 to 490@17.8 psi
so you gain 130hp in 4psi from 12 to 16psi then make only 10hp from 16 to 17.8psi????

The ONLY reason this motor doesn't see 18-20psi now that I have a fuel return is the clutch (ACT 6 puck) doesn't hold 400wtq+. I'm at the limit of the clutch -- and as it's a street car, I'm not really interested in stepping up to a twin at the moment. "

I guess I should have paid more attention to the "ish" part as 500 isn't on the table....SMH Well this is 10 minutes of my life I will never get back
I also have decided not to waste my and your time at the track as it would be a absolute waste of gas to get there.......... I'm done flame on hero.....

Let's stop fighting and use the forums as an educational thing.

We do know from the forums the fa20 does bend rods after a point and some outright break. Although tuning a stock motor to hold it together for that long takes skill.

It's really to bad Subaru/Toyota released the cars with such junk valve springs and rods, regardless of the CR.

Haha, its always crap when something breaks after doubling the power and caning it. Stupid Japanese stuff that always breaks.
