With a good tune, and not raping on the car... 450whp isn't too much of a gamble.

OP did you have an 8th gen Civic Si?

I just get real sketchy when anyone (especially American Dynos) posts numbers. I didn't look that close to the dyno since it was imperial. Should of I guess. We've had tuners here post numbers that are simply not possible. And I expected the usual 20% higher dyno figure+all the other dodgy things people usually do for the internet numbers. Sorry about that. Just a jaded person making assumptions.

"American dynos" -- that's a very dirty generalization. I have customers all over europe showing me dyno sheets of cars I've tuned for them making 15-20% higher than what I see on the same builds on my shop dyno. LoL.

When you see me post a sheet I will either have a time slip or a baseline dyno as context for the vehicle/work/whatever -- hence the baseline in the OP. Random sheets with no context are absolutely worthless.

And I do understand what you're saying -- apparently 300 is the new stock fuel system go to figure on some dynos... except on ours 250 and you're done, anything past that you're just a little lucky (we're talking 5-10hp). Even running it a little crunchy for the sake of seeing what this motor of mine will take doesn't get you anything (lol).

On another note I personally know guys who run around that 3-400kw range and have done so for years. As we've all seen, the guys who can't tune are still blowing engines to this day. Got spare transmissions ready?

LoL. I have spare cars lined up.

Still have -- about 900hp.

Northwest86 11-22-2015 05:13 AM

Jesus 900hp Civic? Whats that running. I can imaging that it is somewhat scary to drive. I just say American dynos since in Aus mainline or dyno dynamics are the only dynos generally available so they are all fairly similar barring people screwing with them. Yeah and thats been seen here too with the limitations on the stock fueling. About 200kw is possible on a less safe tune but 180-190 is more realistic.

6767 on E85. It's FWD so it's kind of boring. Fast sure, but boring. The shop 900hp S2000 is a bit more interesting to drive.

lol

Had a little fun this weekend:

Definitely need a better tire :giggle:

Looks like we got 500 with a completely maxed out fuel system on E76-E77 fuel! Popped a boost leak during this pull too (blew the CPC hose under the manifold off lol).

The ACT 6 puck doesn't like holding ~400tq, had to ramp the dyno in faster to avoid the clutch letting go (which it did once).

Time for a fuel return and/or even larger port injectors? (currently the 900/1000cc Deatschwerks). The pressure drop from the in tank pump is quite evident at the higher boost levels.

Any updated street "closed course" pulls on ~450hp? The other pull video you have is only ~10psi.

Awesome numbers btw!

This thread will last as long as the transmission.

Then it will be in the massive pile of "oops I broke the sh*tty transmission and there's no good alternative to it" threads

It was a nice day in Mexico. Down to ~15psi on E76, so ~450ish. No point running it on the ragged edge being it's out of fuel at 500. Still on the factory tire.

Who cares? I don't understand the belly-aching about the transmission. This platform is by far one of the easiest on our plate when it comes to trans repair. The transmission comes in an hour, tops. I can have a new gearset installed the same afternoon, depending on parts availability.

BRZoomTX 11-27-2015 12:52 PM

Not bad at all man, especially on factory tires. Making very good power. Some real tires would be really nice.

Are you running the stock 4.10 rear as well? Your gears seemed a little longer, but its been a while since I've driven mine so I don't recall the MPH limits of each gear. I thought 4th topped at 100 but you hit 108 in 4th I believe.

As for the trans, we will have real solutions very soon. Multiple shops are working on t56 swaps right now for 2016 release. Once the 86 gets a real transmission for a bolt-on swap, we are going to be seeing a lot more higher HP builds.

VitViper 11-27-2015 06:07 PM

Yes it's all stock. Car runs a 7800 limiter and likes to use it. Might just bump it to 8k lol

I have seen those Mexican roads before! Nice work!
