However, regardless of whether or not it was purposely designed to compete with the FR-S, I have a feeling that it will still hurt sales of the FR-S and possibly even the iQ if the production model (assuming Toyota even greenlights it) ends up being like the concept.

Plus, imagine Scion (assuming it's branded as such) trying to market the S-FR when it already sells the FR-S. It's gonna create a bit of confusion.

I think we've digressed enough from the topic as is talking about the S-FR; after all, there's already a dedicated thread on the forum about it.

Oh there are already 3 threads for the patent and probably about 20 more to come so the whole off topic thing isn't a big concern.
There are all sorts of things that would cause issues if released here which is exactly why I don't think it will be or if it is it will not be for a long time. Some expect it to show up here by next year but I will eat my keyboard if it does.

What would be amazing is if Scion took the S-FR and the FR-S was moved to Toyota like it's supposed to be and the GT86 trim became available.

I can only dream though.

Well now there ya go. That is probably the most thoughtful post on this thread. And I like the way you think.
