VOLK TE37V-SL Review [FUGU-Z][SEMA 2015]

Hey Guys,

Also got another special wheel from SEMA 2015.

Sung Kang's (Now) Infamous FUGU-Z rocking VOLK TE37V-SL wheels.

They were made last year, but discontinued and they brought back a limited run set. The 17" is a nice size that might fit the twins on 9.5, 10 and 10.5" wide depending on what kits you're running.

Hope you enjoy:

Nice short review on the wheels, I love those wheels.

Is it better to go with a 18x 8.5 "x on these?

No 18's available on the TE37V-SL. The TE37V-SL is only available in 15 and 17. This is the first time they did the TE37V-SL in a 17 (2015. Also another run of 15"). 2014 they did a limited run of ONLY 15" TE37V-SL.

They have the new TE37V MARK II that came out this year, which is an 18" TE37V. No SL on that one though, but it's nice to see a TE37V in 18! I have a video for those coming up soon.

What is the differences differences between the SL and V? SL series is lighter I take it.

CrazyWookiee 11-10-2015 11:29 AM

Yep. It's lighter being an SL. Can't be fitted with center caps. And also the pressed graphite color + clear machined lip. And the inclusion of the SL spoke decal and the SL rim decal lettering.

I'm so glad that they're coming out with a set of the TE37V in 18's. I like them better than the normal TE37. Definately know that when I have the money im going for the TE37V's instead of the TE37 :party0030:

Yeah. They looked great in the anodized bronze. I'll make that one this week and put it up.

Does the bronze has the discolouration problem?

CrazyWookiee 11-10-2015 08:05 PM

Hmm...I'm not sure about the discolouration problem. The volk wheels are all painted, but the bronze is an anodized finish. It's very special because it's one of the lightest finishes they can produce (weight wise) and I'm guessing special care needs to be taken to keep the color since there are thinner layers on there.

I guess the real answer is that all rims created have a discoloration problem, since every wheel will be exposed to brake dust, heat and other elements. But VOLK Bronze is not poorer in any sense than other finishes from what I've seen. I'd say it's superior because I have seen many other brand of wheels have much more finish issues.

Look forward to your review on the bronze.
