Ebay Muffler Delete Pipe Review

Hello everyone. New guy here. Bought my FRS used about 3 months ago and after getting all the maintenance items taken care of I wanted to spend a few bucks to make the car more enjoyable.

My number one complaint about the driving experience was the totally lack luster exhaust note. After researching cat-back exhausts I simply could not justify to myself the $600-$900+ price tag for the sound and very minimal, if any real world power gains. I found the Berk setup and was interested in that and began looking for a used one which is when I cam across this on eBay.

I figured it was worth a shot at that price. Placed my order and a few days later it was sitting on my doorstep. Initial impressions where very good. the welds all looked great. Installation took 35 minutes start to finish and I didn't even have to jack up the car. Fitment was great. I have to make some fine adjustments to get the tips to sit just right but nothing major.

It makes a great sound. On a cold start it gives nice little bark. On fast 1-2 shifts you can get some pops and crackles. Its loud under full throttle but during normal driving its pretty mellow. Engine brake from high RPMs will cause it to drone EXTREMELY bad. But thats about the only time its obnoxious. Its as quite as stock at highway speeds. You can drive with a light foot and not piss off your neighbors in the morning. All and all I am very pleased with my purcahse.

I took a video but won't bother to post it as it doesn't sound anything like it does in real life.

Can you post pics of the tips to see how they are aligned with the bumper?

I condensed all the photos into the main post.

Not bad at all for a muffler delete at $130 with free shipping. Tips look pretty good too.

Only test now is the test of time, and how long it'll take for it to completely rust up on you. If things stay relatively rust-free then you've picked out quite a nice bargain. You can't beat that price.

thanks for the pics. Can you get a pic of it from the rear, to see if both tips are aligned to the bumper the same.
How did the welds on the hangers look? those are usually the first things to fail on low cost exhaust stuffs.

Not 100% perfect but you really can't complain about the slightly offset tips for the price.

Exactly. I haven't had a chance to fiddle with it since I installed it on Wednesday. I think I can get it a little better.
