They didn't say it will never happen. This is just reiterating what they've been saying for a while

You can make that four. I owned two. The Supra mythology is much greater than the Supra reality.

I appreciate them, I like seeing them on the road.

Would I buy one? Nope.

Can you elaborate on what the "Supra mythology" is?

My impression of the Supra is it's one of the best Grand Tourers: a big coupe with a smooth engine that reliably and cheaply makes boatloads of horsepower, perfect for long, fast highway journeys. Also pretty dominating as a drag car until the AWD monsters (the R35 GT-R and TT'ed Lambos) took over.

Oh and on-topic: can't say I'm surprised. I'm waiting for Mazda's website to have a link to norotors.com :D

Girlfriend has pretty much made up her mind on a 2015 Mazda 3 i-Grand-Touring Sedan in that beautiful red.

I'm pushing two things though.. 1: Appearance package with wheels and 2: 6 Spd Manual transmission.

I'm convinced that if I can teach her out to double clutch or heal-toe I will forever change her life. :)

Ah well, my idea was to rebuild another 2nd gen 13B anyway. Still disappointing to me, since I absolutely love the drive and sound of RX series, but they just cannot meet MPG or emissions this day and age. That bridgeported rotary sound with a RacingBeat header and Holley carb though? Priceless (to me, i know opinions vary). I'm going to have to rock my no-pistons car sticker and shirt again eventually.

I really wish they would build a lightweight fixed-roof sports car on the Miata platform with a novel and compact piston engine that would allow for a very low hood and cowl with centralized mass and better (more rearward) than 50/50 weight distribution. Something like a 2.5 V4 spinning to >8000rpm making 270ish hp NA should be nearly as compact as the rotary, while giving much better fuel economy. That's what *I'd* do if I were Mazda...
