Still, when/if the RX7 returns it would be a huge mistake for Mazda to price it in the $70k range. Too much competition there. Mazda would be much smarter to design and market an RX7 as a BRZ on steroids type of vehicle, or poor man's Evora/Cayman. Something around 3,000 lb with a power to weight ratio between 8-10 lb/hp with a price starting in the high 30s, maybe $40k. In that part of the market their only real sports car competition is the overweight and outdated Nissan 370Z.

Like so many things it is not as simple as saying the car will sell for X number of Yen in Japan and then just slap the exchange rate on that number and say it will be Y number of dollars here. Sure if you are buying something from Japan and paying in US$ that works but comparing domestic prices and using the exchange to determine value just does not work. Get it all the time with the Canadian prices and people say "oh so it actually cost you X" No, it cost me Y. Yes it would cost somebody using US$s X but not me. The actual US price (if even brought over at all) could be well above or below $70K. I would guess they would sell it here for something around $50K.

A. Clickbait. MotorTrend is citing Motoring, and Autoblog and Business insider is citing some Japanese blog, hooray.

B. I'd take sloppy seconds on one.

HOLY CRAP! Good finds.

They really are digging up the old shit aren't they. Must be really slow on the old clickbait front right now.

Should see a Motoring article saying "BRZ tS and STi expected in US showrooms by December" any minute now.

Any article containing this Motoring’s sources is as solid as it gets. It might as well be coming from the manufacturer's mouth.

Firstly, the colour on the picture is atrocious. Latest concept shown in bile mixed with vomit, with a mica shimmer.

Secondly, the rear quarter window looks familiar...practically every sports car concept I have seen recently has that pointy window that I recognize from somewhere...

Probably somewhat similar to the upcoming Z5, which should be a chassis twin to the FT-1/Supra I have been saving for...

OK I agree to disagree!

To be honest my brother in law has a loaded Hyundai Sonata in a Hot Lava colour and I am not fond of it. After years on the road, I only just saw the first Hot Lava FR-S on the road and it looked great!

I guess its like Plum Crazy, it only works on certain cars.

I like crazy colours like the Smurf colored M3's, and the fluorescent looking stuff, on a Lambo. It just makes sense over the top colour on over the top car. So, the Mazda 6 nose looks kinda school bus like on that sketch.
