Audio Issues With Android Head Unit
So I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this in advance but I'm wanting some outside opinions.
I'm using an Android based head unit in my ride. Over the last weekend I had Custom Sounds here in St. Louis install my Alpine PDX-V9 and two pairs of Focal's. They would have installed the sub but JL shipped me the wrong one. I got the correct one in the mail yesterday and hooked it up. I get a minor hiss from any digital media I play back but FM radio sounds fine. MP3's and FLAC both have a noticeable hiss to them that can be compensated for with volume, but I don't always want to rock out. I also get a loud pop from the subwoofer when the source is changed or the headunit's power is cycled. I'm pretty certain this points to a problem with the head unit. It either has a manufacturing defect or is damaged. Am I on the right track here? |
I also have a similar android unit but do not have this issue. There is a thread on xda dedicated to these units, try posting your issue there. To check if your unit is in the same family, go into settings->about then check to see what your MCU version says.
