Do TRD Brake Pads Come With Lifetime Exchange/Warranty
 

I am assuming the TRD brake pads do not have a lifetime exchange on them, but I thought I would ask.
Do they last longer then the stock pads? Im at ~24k and I need to change the fronts.
If not are the Duralast (Autozone) Premium Ceramics any good? They are about $85 with lifetime exchanges. I plan on keeping the car for a long, long time. I realize they won't be TRD quality, but will they at least be better then stock? Although I do think the stock brakes are pretty decent.

Pads are wear item. You brake, they wear down. How one can request exchange if they do what they ought to? And mileage is purely dependent on their use/abuse. Many k miles or just few track days for some. When you use out tank of gas, you fill up. Be it sooner or later depending on how often and how economic or sporty minded your drive. When you wear down pads, you buy & install new ones. That's all there is to it.

Many companies like Duralast or the Napa ones offer lifetime exchanges. I was sure that the TRD ones wouldn't but I thought I would ask. But I'm still wondering what people's experience with the duralast brake pads were

If you're going to replace your pads, you might as well go with something that is going to stop you better.

It bothered me they didn't call bullshit on the slotted discs more aggressively, the old rotors were bedded in with the same procedure hypothetically, the slotted have no excuse other than the fact that they're less efficient at stopping you.

Edit: with regards to the OP, what kind of driving are you doing? If it's exclusively street and no aggression you'll probably be happy with the auto store parts. From what I've heard stoptech pads have a good reputation and are a couple bucks cheaper than TRD, I think both would be good choices on the street. imo higher brake wear is part of owning a sports car.

I'm surprised more people haven't heard of the vatozone special before. Some of those duralast gold or platinum or whatever BS pads have a lifetime warranty. You wear them out, take back to autozone, they give you new pad. Just so long as you keep the receipt and box, simple as that. Not saying they aren't shit pads tho lol.

They lack initial bite and don't stand the test of time if you drive harder than a soccer mom in a minivan full of smelly kids.

I can confirm the TRD pads do not have such a warranty.

Alright cool thanks. I'll check out the stoptech pads. I switched my cars all to much in the past, and most of the time they were cheap cars so I went with the cheapest ones I could find. The FR-S is finally one that I will need to actually do it with decent quality.

Don't buy brake pads or rotors with a lifetime warranty.

It is the inherent nature that they ware out.
You don't get a free tank of gas just because your tank is empty.
You don't get another steak when just finished eating it.
It's just dishonest to buy something because of that.
