Anybody Use the Climate Control?

I am a guy who prefers to tweak the settings of everything I own. In cars I prefer to control the temp, air flow, the type of cooling, and whether the air comes from outside or inside.

For example in the mornings I'll use the cool air from outside instead of using the A/C.

So, do owners typically take advantage of the Climate Control?

Lol maybe the FRS has better controls then the BRZ when you treat it like you do??

Almost exclusively.

Set it and forget it. Yes.

Interesting topic. I also like the control. I prefer not to set the temp and allow the car to do the rest. I guess I'm old school. I'm a control freak.

I usually hit Auto then turn AC off :D

On chilly nights I love cracking the windows with heat on the feet. Somehow.. on Auto the car knows this and sets the direction to feet :party0030:

I wonder what the logic is.

Wish I kinda had the Dual climate control....

I like to drive with a little air blowing on it. (no A/C, just let the cool air come in.) But, the GF gets cold very easily so she doesn't allow this to happen...

I do use climate control but in our mild winters here I prefer to drive with windows open and seat warmers on.

I love the alacantra seats and never thought I'd be a fan of the buns warmers but I'd miss them if I had to do without.

agreed!

I usually don't use the environmental systems at all (Southern Cal has a pretty livable climate), but any time I need cooling I just set the climate control and usually reduce the fan speed after the first couple of minutes to make it quieter. For warming I usually just use some seat heat instead of using the HVAC; it minimizes the heating of the cabin air, which means less condensation problems on the glass. Sometimes I'll have the seat heater on and the windows open or cracked.

I have climate control on a 1994 Celica. It does the same thing; perhaps they used the same climate control system?!

I dont have it in the FRS, but I used to hate the car maintaining a temperature for me. Now that i have used it a few times in the celica...its awesome...... dont have to constantly play with the temp setting to keep from getting too cold/warm.

because people know hot air rises. hot air is directed to the ground (as a rule of thumb), because it will rise and fill the rest of the cabin, and cold air is directed towards the body because it will fall and fill the cabin that way

Heat doesn't always blow on the feet though. I was just wondering if it monitors window position.

For instance.. for Auto to enable defrost, it monitors:
Sensor inputs from engine coolant temperature, outside air temperature,
amount of sunlight, required blower outlet temperature and
vehicle speed.

I don't really like the climate control. I find that the interior of the BRZ is so small, the temperature changes way too fast and the auto climate control overshoots the cooling or heating.

It's like it's too strong to cool so it goes below the preset temp. When it's time to heat, it gets too hot inside and overshoots like the cooling.

My Acura TL has much better temp control.

Vic

PS. The dual climate seems silly in a cabin that's so small imho.
