Exhaust recommendation around $400
I just bought a brz a month or so ago and am wanting to get a new exhaust because the stock one is a little underwhelming. I would like to only spend around $400 if possible.
I really like the sound of the [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmnNW9_eHSk"]Invidia N1[/ame] but unfortunately that is almost $700. Is there something similar sounding or better that is closer to my price point? I really appreciate any help. Thanks. |
You can try j2 engineering, top speed pro-1, tsudo, or megan racing.

Or buy used. There's a classifieds section here.

You can get a used N1 for about $350. I personally have the N1, if your planning to go catless header down the road, you may want to reconsider and here's why. It's loud and aggressive as fuck. If you don't mind waking up the neighbors, breaking necks, and standing out, by all means go for it (it's why I did it).. But if you want something that's quiet until you get on it, try something like the Perrin 2.5in resonated or Invidia Q300. Sure at stock they sound quiet, but once you get a header it all changes. I didn't believe anyone until I did it myself.
If you plan to stay stock, I think the N1 had the perfect tone. |
if you want power and a slightly louder exhaust, invest in a header. if you just want sound, then buy a cat back. the gruppe-s UEL header is a good bang for the buck header.

here let me help ya. stop being lazy, type exhaust on google and youll find ft86speedfactory.com, look at all their catback options for $400 then go on youtube and look at videos and make your decision.

OP check out the Works axleback muffler, I think it's under 400 American (I forgot because I paid in CAD.) I think the works axleback unmuffled is actually cheaper check it out. They sound fantastic. |
you can find a Tsudo Catback for around $400
|
The only thing new in that price range are knock offs or the cheaper setups.
I have seen flowmaster in the upper 400's, which is probably your only bet on new. So.... go custom or search used. JMO. |
Or...
Shop around as others have said but ignore the price until you find what you really like. Then if it is more that you can pay right now save up and get that. Buying something like an exhaust based purely upon a set price means you are just settling for what you can get, not getting what you really want (unless of course you get lucky and the two overlap). Do it right, do it once. |
I bought locally and got a overpipe-back exhaust for $400
Went with a AP Overpipe and frontpipe combo, catless and resonated. With a J2 engineering catback. This setup sounds pretty good and I personally like the look of it as well. I know the catback and overpipe/frontpipe both go for about $400 a peice. |
i grabbed a zeta exhaust system for about 325 new on ebay. best money ive spent.
|
Get used one. I never bought new exhaust in all my cars. it's all same. nobdoy is going to check out under the car
