Don't go too wide. I would get the 8.25's. 9 inch rims for a daily is too much.

Please excuse my ignorance but why would the 17x9's be too much for daily driving?

They can be louder for road noise.
Wide tires tend to follow ruts in the road.
They will be more likely to hydroplane.
You will get worse MPG.
They are not needed on a low power car.
They are also weigh more.
They cost more.
They can also kill the "feel" of the road.

Dont get me wrong there are advantages to a wider tire but on the street as a daily I don't see the point. Maybe if you are going a specific look then go for it I guess.

too much as in not needed(for a daily)? yes. Stock is 17x7.
too much as in too crazy ultra wide? not even close.
17x9 is a very popular size for a performance related setup. Many people daily 17x9's

Ok great. Thanks for the reply. I was curious cuz I wanna buy this car and put wheels on as well and was hoping for 9's but I see your points. They make sense so I'll reconsider

It all depends on how you want to build your car :) if you can live with the cons there are lots of pros to be gained
