I doubt it - group orders get discounts because suppliers save on sending out multiple products to one location. This is a mobile 'service' so I don't expect any discounts.

Still worth asking though.

I was researching about why WA cost nearly $1000 compared to Ravine $450.

from what I have read $450 would only be 1 layer of opti-coat. can you confirm Ravine how many coats you got.

whereas here in WA its priced at two layers only and you have the option to go three layers for more

I was always under the impression that Opti-coat was like a solvent which bonded to your clear coat. It needs to cure and settle which to do properly takes a few days. If you apply another coat straight away, it'll just dissolve the last one and be wasted.

But either way, that's my unprofessional opinion on the matter. I'm not sure how many coats it was but for $1000, it's a bit of a rip off for even 2 coats. Most of the money is in the preparation and the materials used to decontaminate and prep the paintwork before applying the opti-coat.

EDIT: Regardless, don't take my word for it. I'm not working for Bright Shine. Call them up and ask them for a quote and a confirmation!

so your car should be washed, clayed, check to see if any swirl and fix up accordlingly then apply opti coat?

Exactly.

Mine didn't get clayed because the paint was already pretty smooth but each car is different depending on condition.

However, I did have some issues on the bonnet and roof so I got it polished with a buffer.

I found the answer on GTI forums and a few GTI have got it done here. nothing but praise

Would you be happy to pay $500 more for the same application without a valid reason ? just because we live in the WA ?

catcha 06-26-2012 12:22 AM

Anyway besides the point, it looks to be a good product to keep you car nice and clean, I saw some youtube post of just streaming the water on the car and its becomes dry instantly without having to dry it. I thought that was pretty cool
