questions about oem jdm/euro lighting

hey guys,

just a couple of quick questions. im trying to get my usdm fr-s lighting to match the lighting on the jdm/euro gt86 as economically as possible lol

i've done a bit of researching on the forums and in regards to the jdm/euro head lights i know they have hids and the led drl as well as the auto leveling system compared to the lowly stock halogens we get on the usa base fr-s and that it's pretty expensive to swap to the jdm ones. ive seen prices of around $1000 per headlight, plus the stuff needed for the auto leveling system correct?

however ive seen that there are cheaper aftermarket options like the winjet headlights. are these reliable? do they look exactly like the oem jdm headlights? and are these compatible with the auto leveling system?

about the tail lights, what's the difference between the usdm and jdm ones? they look pretty similar to me. lol

finally in regards to foglights, whats the best option? oem fr-s/brz fogs or are there any cheaper aftermarket options that look the same and are compatible with the oem steering stalk that has the foglight switch/es?

i read somewhere that its possible to make the rear foglight work as well but that unfortunately the rear foglight indicator on the usdm gauge cluster for the brz and frs doesnt work and that the usdm gauge cluster is not compatible with the euro/jdm stalk that has separate switches for front and rear foglights. so the only way to make the rear fog work is to switch on with the front fog switch on the usdm steering stalk or i guess adding a separate custom switch? if you're ocd like me this still isnt satisfsctory because the indicator on ghe gauge cluster wonts light up for the rear fogs and even if you were to switch out the stock usdm gauge cluster for the euro or jdm one everything would be in km anyways! so frustrating lol

any suggestions for this? my preference would be for both front and rear fogs to work via the oem steering stalk with seperate switches and for the indicators for front and rear to work on the usa gauge cluster and have it work as closely as the the foglight system on the oem euro/jdm models work.

is this possible?

appreciate the comments guys! cheers! thanks!

if youre really that OCD, then you wouldn't be satisfied with anything other than actual jdm headlights with the projectors retrofitted from LHD cars, and the jdm taillights. usdm tails have a tiny red "parking" light that lights up on the side due to DOT rules which any jdm taillights dont need to have. and you can retrofit a bulb into the rear fog/reverse light housing but you'll need to drill a hole open still.

just press the "kmh" button on the gauge cluster and pretend you're in japan. it's free and easy.
