FR-S Waiting Game-Months

I wondered if anybody else is still waiting for their FR-S after putting a deposit down months ago. My deposit March 2012.:iono:

Very common if you have a specific color and transmission and the dealer does not have that as their allocation

If you are flexible in your color and transmission choices, many opportunities may open up to you. Go to autotrader.com and see what's on the dealership lots locally.

Call around to other dealerships on a regular basis, especially at the beginning and middle of the month when they get their allocations in the system. Thats how caught the Asphalt 6MT ill be picking up in the first week of July. Got the VIN.

welcome to my world the dealer gave me a prius rental till my frs comes in but im getting real sick of this hybrid bs

I was gonna be waiting 2 months, and i called a dealer a hour and a half way, turned out they were trading their black for a white frs and were going to load the body kit and what not on it. I ended up putting my name on the car coming in and i only will end up waiting 3 weeks total. Car will be here next week! :)

Put my deposit down in March, like you, and I'm still waiting for my stupid effing car. I hate my dealer and I'm no longer excited about the car, but it's whatever. Now they tell me it will be mid-July before I take delivery. Who knows, my general feeling is this: fuck scion, i'll get one this time because what that make is idea in every way, but I'm highly unimpressed with the brand and how they deal with me.

:( Yeah... I too feel like I've been strung along a bit and I put my deposit down in May. I can buy an Ultramarine from another dealer right now but I am waiting for a Raven or Asphalt to come in. It appears that the demand is greatly outweighing supply at the moment and so we all are forced to be in limbo for a awhile.

Where in CA are you? If the Ultramarine is a Manual have the dealer swap with the manual Raven at Concord (norcal) Toyota/Scion... We both would be happy buyers :burnrubber:

I'm in Socal, and it's an Ultramarine AT :( And I want a Raven or Asphalt AT. Seems like it's pretty challenging to get the right color and Transmission combo!

Some of you guys fail to realize that its not always a manufacturer issue...but a DEALER (independently owned and operated) issue with communication, acting professionally, and pulling shenanigans behind the scenes...

In my experienice FR-S's are much more available than BRZs and I do not think anyone needs to wait more than a month for a specific combo. I contacted 10+ dealers online using the "Find a dealer" on scion.com asking if they had my particular combo in stock or on the way (Ultramarine or Firestorm MT). Within 12 hours I had responses from each dealer and found many Firestorms on lots and inbound and one Ultramarine on the way from a dealer selling at MSRP. Got the confirmed inquiry stating the price and exact configuration, and the dealer indicated it was en route and should arrive in 3-4 weeks. If you do go this route, I recommend you use a throw-away email address because it's quite a hassle to unsubscribe from 15 dealers who will then follow up and ask why you don't want to do business with them.
