Feeling like crap right now. How bad is it???

So basically I was on my way to work and some idiot lady in a Rav4 decides to squeeze her way through stop light traffic and overtake TWO lanes hitting me in the process.

What pisses me off is that even after swiping my car and hearing the initial impact she still KEPT GOING instead of stopping! Overtaking 2 lanes nearly hitting another car on the lane that turns left at the intersection. I was literally dumbfounded how this even happened tbh. Luckily some workers who were on the road were able to see the whole thing happen and called the cops.

Long story short, some idiot lady driver in a Rav4 just swiped my car and ruined my entire day. :mad0260:

I'm pretty sure I'll need a new bumper, fender, sidemarker, license plate relocator, clips, brackets, screws, fender liner, etc. I'm also concerned that the wires that connect to my DRL and foglights are also ripped/sliced off from the impact. Also the license plate relocator is mangled badly so I'm concerned if the impact shifted the crash bar as I know the rod that connects the relocator is tied to the crash bar.

Resale value is pretty much done because of this DUMB B!TCH!

On to the pics. How bad is it guys?

I suppose there can always be more damage below the surface, but your damage appears to be minor.

No reason to sweat resale value. With very few exceptions, your car is always going to be depreciating.

Yeah it doesn't look bad to be honest. However why are you worried about resale value?? You should gut it and put a cage in it and make it a track car when your ready for a new one haha! Problem solved.

question i have is, did you or the workers get the license plate of the lady? hit and run? or she finally stopped rampaging through traffic?

:burnrubber: I don't plan on selling this car at all but just the fact that I know that it has been hit kinda just eats away at me.

She stopped(thank god). Cops gave her a traffic citation and it was deemed her fault for the accident. We both gave our side of the side of the story and the cop pretty much said just looking at where we were on the road and the way the damage was on our cars, it was pretty obvious. This cop was a complete **** though, the other cops were pretty sympathetic and really helpful.

Just waiting on the Complete Police Report to be ready this friday.

Rear bumper, trunk and 1 tail light. Got hit from behind at like 15km/h and it was like 5-6 grand in damage. These cars are not cheap to fix

I just got hit last week by an 18-wheeler on the freeway. Luckily it was only a <5mi/h collision. Entire rear bumper + rear lights + trunk lid has to be replaced. It was sketchy too because it was in a bad area, the truck driver had an expired drivers license, he wasn't a citizen, and during all this he was trying to rush me. During the rush I was thinking he may have given false documents, but luckily it all checked out.

Edit: I believe some really expensive components are in that side under the hood, things like the fuse box, etc. I remember a car on this forum that looked similar to yours, but ended up getting "totaled" because it damaged components in that area.

What state are you in?

Get a police report, call insurance, have them deal with the mess. Then claim diminished value w/ their insurance carrier. Expect about 3k in diminished value (but you may need to fight for it)

Fuse box is fine, I highly doubt that its total. I just hope the damage is easily repaired to where it was before the accident.

Guam. Right now I just have a case number, cops name, etc. I have to pick up the complete police report this friday. I'm not sure if Diminished Value is available where I'm from but hey its worth a shot.

Thanks guys.
