Quick Noob question...Bolt-ons and factory warranty?

Just got my '15 BRZ a month ago. Just wondering how the dealers handle warranty work with bolt-ons like cat back exhausts.

How about flash tunes?

Thanks guys.

All depends on the specific dealership. Some won't touch it some won't care

You could also ask your dealership what their stance is on it. I'd make sure to get their response in writing just in case

If you throw on a catback, they probably won't care. If you throw on a turbo, they probably will care.

Anything that alters the engine they will void.
That include the oft. Put it in stock mode before you take it in for service.

Depends on what you do and what will be voided. My dealer was clear at the signing.

Lower your car, then anything related to steering or handling will be void.

He said touch the headers or ecu the engine will be void.

I asked him about intake and he didn't give a crap.

If you go boost get ready to void everything.

Thanks for the help guys. Just looking to do a simple cat-back and springs. Just want to keep the warranty in effect.

I recommend TRD springs then as I heard the warranty still covers those. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sure they are fine on a FR-S, but Subaru would not warrant TRD parts when I spoke with them.

No idea, I was trying to see if STI had a Short Shifter, unfortunately they did not.

my dealer told me catback exhaust was fine as long as no cut and welding. gotta be strictly bolt on.

LOL. That's a hilarious and entirely arbitrary distinction.
