emission testing

What's the criteria for emission testing now ?
Will my 13 brz pass if I run a tomei el header nameless catted front pipe and
Greddy sp axle back ?

Pre thanks for your responses.

I don't live in an emissions state but I can tell you in some of the stricter states like California you will fail a visual inspection with a catted header, regardless of how much emissions you're making. In those states its illegal to change any cat until your car reaches a certain age. Your axle back won't produce any extra emission so you're okay there. I'd install the stock header for the test then reinstall your aftermarket one

There's a chance you will fail based on your EL header. Depends on your tune if you have one. The rest is not affecting emissions testing

If your car is tested it will absolutely fail as the main (primary) catalytic converter is built into the oem manifold. If you get a header with an aftermarket cat you might be able to pass but emissions laws are getting tighter every year. For more power in a province they have emission laws look at getting a carb certified FI (force induction) kit. The jackson racing is just 1 example.

Edit: i don't know if they do visual inspections but you can fail on that if you deem it to be an aftermarket header. Also in Canada removing a catalytic converter is a federal offence.

You need to look into each province's rules. Ontario has transitioned into an OBD2 scan with DriveClean. I know of about 4-5 guys fully catless and passing. I am not saying it is legal, just saying it has and can be done.

Don't need to test it until it is 7 years old anyway so what is the issue?

Thanks guys, I will worry about in 2020 but it's nice too know it might be possible to pass with this set up .

Just save your OEM header ;)

Either save your stock exhaust manifold, or get a tune that'll guarantee a pass.

By then they will probably have changed the requirements 3 or 4 times anyway so don't sweat it now.

Or pay the shop to get a conditional pass once a year lol!
