Ripped wire out of plug
 

What's my best option with this little dilemma I'm having? This plug comes off of my passenger side DRL.

Attempt to solder the wire? Is it too close to the plug, will the heat end up melting anything inside the plug itself?

Is there anyway I can buy a new plug and rewire into that, the wires connect in some way to the "pins?" Inside the plug itself right?

Travel back in time and make sure all my lights are unplugged before attempting to walk away from the car with my bumper? So far this is my best idea.



When it comes to electrical projects, these sorts of things are like witchcraft to me, :confused:never have been able to comprehend resistance/voltage/ohms so any information on understanding how a connection like this would be greatly appreciated. Attachment 123391

You'll have to push the connector out of the harness and splice a new connector on there. It's not a hard fix, but (and no offense, just judging by this post) it doesn't seem like you have a solid grasp on this kind of stuff, so I'd recommend taking it to a shop to get it done. It's not a labour intensive fix, so they shouldn't bend you over on the charge.

Edit: just took a second look at the picture, you'll still have to push that connector out of the harness, but there might be enough wire left there to solder.

Bit of a hail Mary but I ended up stripping some of the insulation away and getting enough of a connection!
