TAKATA Racing Drift II Harness Info
Hey Guys,
Normally I do the wheel review videos, but Takata Canada has asked me to make some for their harness lineup, so I wanted to share it with you guys. This is the DRIFT II, Takata's most street orientated harness. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GO1-yxyKbeQ"]TAKATA Racing Drift II Harness[/ame] |
can you recommend a good harness bar?
|
Does Takata have a harness than can be installed without a bar? Similar to the Schroth Rallye 3?
|
Only harness bar I'd recommend for our car is the OMP. Pricey, but safety first.

Almost all the Takata Harness can be installed without a bar.
The Drift series (Drift II, Drift III) are bolted or snapped onto factory 3 point seatbelt points. The Race Series (Race 4, Race 6, SFI and HANS) also have these configurations. The Japanese MPH Harnesses need a bar or cage to be wrapped as they do not come with mounting hardware and should only be wrapped around bars. Again, please check local laws for street legality on the harnesses as laws vary between states and country laws. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 209. OEM seat belt points are the only anchorages that have been 100% tested to hold the loads required for a harness system. The user must determine based on local or national regulations if they choose to keep the original 3pt harness system in the vehicle or replace it for a multi-point TAKATA harness. Quote:
