Where's the USB audio source option?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,
Hoping you can help me understand why I'm not seeing USB as an option in the source list and advise me on how to add it. Thanks in advance. |
Touch the arrow between bluetooth & phone. It would be nice if those of us without ipods could re-order the buttons and put that on the next page instead of usb.
|
Thanks and sorry not to make it clearer before but nope, not anywhere to be seen when scrolling down either.
|
There are a couple of options missing from your list. My Bluetooth icon comes up after scrolling down. Also I see you don't have Info or USB to select. Did you already hook up an iPod to it? (I haven't)
Maybe factory reset the unit? |

When you do, the iPOD icon should change to USB icon automatically, and you should be able to access your music. What this also means is you cannot have both the USB and ipod as concurrent 'options' i assume because they are actually plugged into the same input. Hope this helps! |
If it still doesn't work, bring it the dealership. After driving my FR-S home, my USB also didn't work. Yes, different CD player. I wanted to pull the CD player out anyways, so I didn't let the dealer do it.
What was the problem? The dealership did NOT plug in the USB connector to the CD player. So it could be as simple as that. |
Many thanks for these suggestions. Just wanted to let you know that I had my 1,000 km service today and they "reset" the system. Haven't tried a USB stick yet but can report that the non head-unit USB port near the start button now charges my iPhone for the first time so I'm quietly confident the USB stick will work.

Just tried the USB stick and it still didn't work, although I saw the light on it flash for the first time, so I'm now wondering if it's other data on the drive interfering. I've checked the format and she's FAT32, so I'll remove the other data and try again. Or maybe by the time I get around to that I'll have replaced the system with something else. After all, the only reason I even want to get USB working is to confirm that the sound system is intrinsically poor rather than isolated to some kind of bluetooth issue.

Ok so the USB options DOES NOT work if you plug it is the standard USB slot next to the AUX. In order for you to get it work you need to plug the USB on the custom USB slot located which is located above where the 12v outlet is. Thats how I do it on my brz, not sure if it is the same for you or if you have it.
|
Is there a second USB port on the Aus version of the brz? The USDM version only has one USB port located next to the AUX input - there's no other USB port next to the 12v outlet in the center console or the one in the glove box.
|
Well I had to stick with a corolla style cd player for a little while because my sat nav was on back order, when i took it back to subaru they installed the sat nav and another USB port was installed above the 12v outlet. I will take a photo in a few hours time to show you guys because im at work atm. :)

Interesting. Was your 2nd / new USB port next to the center console 12volt or the one in the glovebox?
