what happened? I thought our engines were beasts...

No. I'm serious. I thought the FA20 was a high revving animal like the old 4age. I redlined that thing every chance I could. Then I needed a head gasket. Other than that, it ran awesome and compression ratio was good until car got stolen.


Anyway, whyd the FA20 blow?

Sounded like it was going to blow about 30 seconds before it did. He could have saved it.

It says "driver error" led to engine blowing. A few seconds before it gets funny sounding, I think he overrevs it. Probably broke something in the valve train.

oh I hear it now. Sounds like a nail scratching a chalkboard. Literally.

Looking at the windshield looked like it blew a coolant line or something.

It looked like that the first time it pitted, half way through the video.

Give the engine another generation and it'll be unstoppable!

i recall reading the FA20 could hit 9300 RPM but that was long time ago before the car was available to the public .. im guessing they took out a lot of the components for something cheaper and for the sake of reliability we have the redline at 7400
its interesting to hear all the rattle once his engine shuts off

hopefully we get a follow up on whatever happened
