Open flash tablet opinions
 

I have a BRZ and I am planing to get some new headers and stuff but i know i will be getting a check engine light and i would need a tune and all im getting online is an open flash tablet...So i wanted to know what your guys opinions are on it. so help a brother out haha :bonk: :sigh:

Since you're in Fairfax, I'd say your two best options are hit up ptuning, or go for the OFT.

If all you care about is a few HP and getting rid of the CEL, I'd say open flash is perfect for you, since it's cheaper.

If you're going to go forced induction or you want the most HP, I'd give ptuning a call and see what they can do for you with a dyno tune.

Yeah, if you want to crank every last horsepower out of your setup, OFT is probably not for you, since there aren't a lot of tuners that'll work with OFT. This isn't to say you won't get more power with OFT - you will. It's an off-the-shelf tune, so it's going to be safe for a lot of cars, and therefore not all that aggressive.

I wouldn't worry about the forced induction eventuality - if you do end up going down that route, you can always sell the OFT for 80% of what you paid.

My thought was to only buy everything once. Hence why I went with ECUTek. I'm etuned from Moto East.

I went with the Borla headers and gave me the check engine light and ended up going with the OFT and is a great buy!

thank you guys yeah well i was gonna go turbo later but right now im trying to get a bit more horse power not as much especially because this is fairfax haha. and its a daily car so i dont want to blow up the engine when its still under 20k miles

pick up an OFT, and later down the road you can always sell it

OFT won't cause the engine to blow, if anything it'll run better than stock.

LOL yes yes it is lifes to short to be stock lol but yeah i honestly think i might just go oft for mean time
