Bluetooth Audio... Loathe it.

I have to rant... The BTA (bluetooth audio) is absolutely mind-numbingly frustrating. I swear its spiteful

I have an iPhone 4 ios 5.1.1. Just about every single trip where I want to listen to my music on my phone it'll play roughly 3 songs. After those, it'll pause and pause and pause. It might get 30 seconds into a song and then pause indefinately. On rare occasion, if I turn the radio off and then back on, it'll play momentarily and then pause again. This evening was beautiful.. a good song came on.. half way in the song PAUSE-PAUSE-PAUSE...

To make matters even more frustrating. When I try to use the USB connector the damn thing gets confused and switches back and forth between BTA and USB. That might be solved by turning off bluetooth on my phone, but I prefer the hands free calling (which always works!?!).

I absolutely love my car and now that the stereo is in "FR-S Mode" its even better. If only it wasn't for the constant "PAUSE."

Anyone else have this issue?

i haven't had a single problem with my BTA. i don't wanna turn this into an iPhone vs Android thread, but i do have an android phone and it hasn't given me any issues. i leave bluetooth on all the time. i get in my car and music is playing within a few seconds of turning on the car. i can next and prev track without any hesitation on my phone's part.

that being said, i do have an iPod touch that i haven't used in a while. i'll try it with that tomorrow and let you know if i experience anything like what you've described.

The "iPhone vs ______ " might be a valid argument though as it may be software in the phone. If that truly is the case, then hopefully I can make it to September when I want to replace the phone. Instead of fitting an aftermarket radio.

That said, if it isn't the phone perhaps its just a bad radio :iono:

alright so my iPod can't even connect with my car lol. it's an iPod Touch 2G though and i haven't updated the software past 3.1.1 because i got tired of jailbreaking it every time there was a new update. but yea, it doesn't look great. i'm surprised it can't even connect.

edit: i barely use the thing anymore though so i'm gonna try updating it to the latest iOS version and see if that does anything. i'll let you know.

My iPhone 4S works great with Bluetooth in my BRZ. I guess thats what you get for the extra money. :)

how can you turn on the BT audio from playing automatically?

i hate it when you turn on the car the music plays right away.

well if you turn off the radio before you shut off the car, your phone will still connect right away but it won't start playing music until you turn on the radio.

also my ipod froze during software update. i think i bricked it lmao.

Damn. Thanks though for at least looking into it. haha

iPhone 4, no idea what version of iOS is on it, haven't had any issues with BTA, in fact it works a lot better using bluetooth than it does when I plug it in. I mostly listen to Spotify and the songs show up perfectly over bluetooth and the controls work fine, but when I plug it in it says "iPod error" all the time, won't show the song info, and pauses and unpauses 3 times whenever I change the volume.

haha nah, i guess it just hung at the final leg of updating, but it did update fine. being a 2G though the latest version i could get onto was 4.3 i believe. i just tried it out and it connected and seems to be working just fine so i guess the issue you're having is with your stereo :/. sorry man. have you already tried deleting the the stereo and reconnecting it?

FR-S with Bespoke, BTA works great with the 4S on iOS 5.1.1 (and 6 beta).

The only issue I have had is with iOS 6 beta, it'd sometimes pause Pandora when a Waze audio notification would play (like turn directions).

Haven't tried with iCloud/iTunes Match yet.

Yea. Resetting the connection a few times hasn't resolved it unfortunately.

I'll probably just try to get the HU replaced first visit to the dealer for service.

I'd settle for your issue!

I have not had any problems with my bluetooth in my FR-S but I do have an Android phone. But I do remember from my dealer telling me that iPhones may have some problems with the base radio when I was test driving my car if that helps..

I noticed of my rooted Android 4.0 custom rom, if I leave wifi on, I get the same issues as you or wierd drops. With it off, I have no issues.
