Muddled sound issue
Had my BRZ for about two weeks and started noticing a couple of days ago that every once in a while the sound would get really clear and then become muddled and switch back and forth a little. I'm about to take it in to the dealership to have them look at it but I just wanted to know if anyone else has had the problem?

The question is... What is causing the switching?
Please check your settings and report back here. |

Ever watch digital TV? When it looses pieces of the signal, you'll see squares in the picture and/or the audio sounds like it's broken-up. Basically, the system is doing it's best to NOT loose signal. It's a nice feature compared to sounding like a broken record. How to avoid it? Turn off HD radio and listen to regular radio. |
I do have the same issue. It is more pronounced on FM channels, but it is also on satellite radio.
I have noticed that the twitters started to have noise also. Overall the radio connection is fairly poor. When I pass under any overpass the connection gets interrupted. Equally navigation reception is poor also. It does loose satellite connection and when it does connect it is the wrong location. The resolution of the navigation is also poor. I can sit at the intersection at it tells me I have 100 ft to the intersection. Roll 10 feet and then it goes to 50 and 0. If you listen to the command you can easily miss the turn. This poor resolution translates to poor address hunting. It often tells me I have arrived when I have another 100 ft to go. I am collecting all these defects so when I take it in they can address them all. Blown twitters Poor radio connection poor satellite connection poor navigation resolution Overall boomy sound does not matter how I adjust it My $150 alpine stereo in my other car with only two boston acoustic speakers has a much superior sound My $100 Garmin navigation has better resolution and has never dropped out or got confused about where we are I hope I have a defective system :mad0260: |
