Customize 2015 BRZ HU?

Hey all, I'm new but did search. Anyway I bought a 2015 BRZ and would like to reprogram/reflash/customize the factory nav and not replace it. I've seen a bunch of people have swapped theirs but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

The displays that some of you guys have with the Bluetooth OBD connector so you can show gauges is awesome an exactly what I want!

To be honest I'm surprised there's not a way to tune via the head unit. Not for full on tuning but even just simple things like with the Accessport you can pull timing. Would be cool to use the head unit to put the car in valet with a password and such.

Anyways the head unit I have is all touch screen and has the power/volume, audio, voice, and nav buttons as well as an SD card for the nav.

Thanks!

I don't think you can do that with the stock HU. what the others are doing is from an android app with their android HU called torque or something similar. btw, access port doesn't tune via the HU. open flash tablet is somewhat similar to access port for our cars, if that is what you're looking for.

Dang, I didn't want to have to swap it out cuz there's a few things I wanted to do already and flashing would have been much cheaper...

I think it's the nexus tablet and there's a place to get a mount for it that puts the tablet right under the factory radio. Then an obd2 port plug and the torque app. There are threads about this. I have a friend with it and it looks pretty good

I wanted to do it without purchasing something to replace the factory stereo, a reflash of the stock HU.

I don't think anyone has reflashed or reprogramed the stock hu. With the tablet you don't replace anything, you add it.

Ya I've debated using my phone (5.5") but to me the best option is using the in-dash stock HU.

I'd you figure something out throw it on this post. I wouldn't mind having something like this too

Will do. Hopefully someone's seen an option! To me it's pointless in adding or replacing when it's a good screen already.

If you get real serious you might could get a response from pioneer see if there's anything they know or can do.
