2016 Focus ST vs 2013 Scion FR-S

Why choose just one? My wife and my new garage situation:

Can i be on the official committee for deciding future Focus ST vs 86 arguments now?

Congrats! Are you going to do any mods on the FoST?

KevinK121 10-12-2015 11:56 AM

I beat one of these drag racing.

Only entered drag because autoX was full at a weekend event.

That's an awesome combo, congrats. Much more practical than the FRS/Miata combo that I would like to pull off. HAHA

Dave-ROR 10-12-2015 12:07 PM

Yeah the Focus is very practical. I love hatchbacks for that reason :)

Only if you have Randy Pobst driving the following comparisons with laptimes to back it up:
stock vs stock
stock vs stock on the same tires
both modified on a $30k budget including initial purchase price, make sure you choose correct modifications, or better yet test all combinations, and buy new, and used.

Even then you'll be wrong 60% of the time.

So true...

Clearly the ST is better because if you made it RWD it would be more practical.

Oh wait... but then again, move the engine to the back of the FR-S and put a WRX motor in the front.

Then again, put hover wheels on the ST...

I mean it all comes down to the tires anyways right? Or does it all come down to the driver? Crap, I hate pop quizzes!

haha, well that solves that issue

That's how my garage looked for a couple years, except my wife's ST is Blue.

I've been commenting on the comparison between these two cars for a long time, but people will always choose to believe whatever they want to believe.

I love FoST. Congrats!

Nice... but what always wins the argument for me is that despite the lap times or which ever is faster blah blah blah, rear wheel drive is always more FUN!

And that's the point in the end isn't it... having fun!

Cool combo in your garage though! Let's face it - you could be driving a diesel station wagon.

Honestly, there really shouldn't be an argument. They are both great cars.

RWD is more fun most of the time, but the Focus ST definitely makes a good argument against that sentiment.

For now I am going to enjoy driving the crap out of both of them. :burnrubber:
