Engine knock

Hey everyone, today while at a red light I noticed my engine was knocking. The sound comes from passenger side by the alternator.
I know this was posted before but for some people it was considered normal and others had to fix the rods or something. The car has 5,000 miles and it's 2013 model.. Never abused or tracked. 2 days ago I installed a berk dual muffler delete. Could that cause the issue? I don't want to take it to the dealer because I know they're going to blame it on the muffler.
This is a video of the noise I made [ame]http://youtu.be/Ey5R4dQE_Ac[/ame]
(Engine was warmed up)

Anyone know it this is a normal thing or do I have to take it to the dealer?

That does not sound normal and sounds like the knock that others have posted but not as loud. I do not see how the exhaust mods could have caused this. I seem to remember someone else with a similar level of knock and it was from the rocker arms (?).

Are you still under warrantee? If so, take it in and see what the dealer tells you.

What do others think?? Especially those that have had knock.

Yes i have extended warranty until 2021. What do I say if they blame it on the muffler delete?

Sounds like a leaking exhaust gasket or valve clearance problem.

i had same issue

until now not fix yet

it is camshaft balance (rocker arm lifters and shims) out of limit .

Yes, it does sound like something in the valve train is "clicking".

I doubt it has anything to do with deleting the muffler.

I'd also suggest you take it into the dealer for a look see.

I would't even mention that you deleted the muffler, but acknowledge that you have if asked.

If they say the "clicking" is because you did the muffler delete ........ ask for the manager ...... because the tech is incompetent.

I hope you get it figured out.

Oh yes, you may wish to take a long screwdriver (or something like that), with the handle up to your ear and place the tip around different places to see if you can isolate the sound.

Half hour to reinstall the muffler and straight to the dealer. Off you go.

check the drive belt tensioner

Same noise, it's the rocker arms, you'll need a new engine/engine rebuild (not a joke).

No it's not the muffler.
