Engine cricket sound?
I know this topic had been discussed over and over, but just wondering if there's any fix that would forever eliminate the noise? I own a 2016 FRS with 2500 miles on it, which i thought the cricket noise only occurs on earlier models. Is this big of an issue or just normal for our FR-S?
|
I'm no expert, but from what I've understood it's normal. It has something to do with the fuel pump. I have it on my 2014 GT86 with 9000 miles on it.

Toyota/Subaru motor group are both in the final stages of a multi trillion dollar lawsuit after reports started coming in about engineers stuffing helpless live crickets into our fuel pump. PETA is now getting involved by claiming they have video evidence of these crickets being forced to live inside our HPFP. It truly is sickening.
That's the latest I heard about the matter. |
You gotta be kidding me! You know it has been talked about over and over yet feel the need to ask yet again?
This is probably th easiest single topic to fine on here. I give up. |
I have found that making sure your Crikets are well fed keeps them quieted down. This is what I have been using:

Contrary to popular belief, you need to put in 86 gas for the crickets to go away. People tend to put in that fancy-smanshy 93 gas but what this car really needs is that 86 gas, thus being called the GT86. Get it - 86 EIGHTY SIX.

Open up that fuel pump and you've got an unlimited supply of fishing bait.

fix forever: swap in 2JZ

CONGRATULATIONS on the purchase of your new machine...... To the the best of my knowledge, a solution for the chirping sounds that the HPFP makes, has not been found. It's just the nature of the beast. So, I'd suggest you just get used to it ...... and drive and enjoy that fine automobile ...... :burnrubber: humfrz |
Turn the tunes up louder.

I can't even hear it in the car on a cool day now that Fall is creeping in, it's only prevalent when hot. Secondly, Why ask the question again if you already have the answers, the cricket problem has been beaten to death here @86ish

Lol thank you all for the positive feed back :party0030:
