To Stripe or Not To Stripe...

Looking for opinions....

Picked up my '15 a few weeks ago. The dealer had rally stripes put on. It was the only blue they had and he didn't charge me for them, so I was cool with it. They are vinyl stripes so I'm either going to take them off soon or have them painted on if I decide I like them.

I'm a fan of rally stripes on muscle cars. Just haven't made my mind up about having them on the BRZ.

Yay or nay?

Blue is about the only color I like them on. Looks like a mini viper.

I think it looks ok.... but it's not the type of thing I would do to an 86. Kinda makes it look a little like a Ford GT wannabe.

But what really matters is if you deep down inside really like it.

It looks like a Dodge Viper if you squint :) If you like it then stay with it! Personally, I would probably go without it.

Unless you make like 400+ HP and can keep up for a ford GT/Viper then no strip IMO haha!

The stripe doesnt bug me at all. Have you seen the stripes subarus put on their new red special edition sti? I think it kinda looks the same to me. Personally its up to you and if you're looking for approval i give you a

is the car brand new?

how long have they been on there?? id be afraid if the car is used or they have been on there for some time.. there could be a chance the paint might not match underneath it

Thanks guys. Keep it coming! I know it's my choice but I like it and don't think I should on a sub-horsepower car.

Yes, brand new. 1k on the clock now and it was in the showroom since the stripes were applied so no chance of sun fade so far. And I can't stand decals on paint!

I like it! There have been many "low powered" sports cars with stripes over the decades. Do agree with Raven though that they only seem to work on the blue.

WhiteFRS69 10-09-2015 02:57 PM

i personally like it!

maybe some white or black wheels would add to the touch

I like it. Been thinking about putting red stripes on my raven.

I like it, and have actually thought about doing something similar myself (probably black on the Firestorm though). Just haven't gotten around to doing the temporary trial fit. I think white would look good on the Hot Lava as well, sorta a '69 Camaro look.

I also like these that are/were available in Europe. Looks good in Firestorm and Lava. Don't care for the side stripes though, just the top stripes.

I vote against the stripes.

shiumai 10-09-2015 04:07 PM

i think they look good. unless you're trying to do an STi clone or something, i'd keep them. makes the car stand out from the rest (in a good way IMHO).
