Windshield Repair

After almost three years of ownership I finally had a rock smack into my windshield that made a dime sized chip. Anyone have recommendations of people/places to fix it in the Seattle area? Preferably close to my work in South Park.

You made it three years? I had my first rock chip literally 24 hours after buying the car. I took it to Safelite and they did a great job.

Yeah, I've had many a time where they've made a heartbreaking sound, but left behind no marks.

+1 for Safelite

Anyhoo, you work in South Park? I live in South Park lol

Where do you work at, if you don't mind me asking. I've only seen 1 other Twin around here, and it was just passing through the hood. :P

Another positive vote for Safelite. They came out to the house yesterday and did a replacement on my F350. Spent about 10 minutes talking to the guy and then just stood back and let him do his job. He was efficient, thorough and didn't cut any corners. Most importantly (too me) his van was clean, organized and very professional. Said he had been with the company for fifteen years and watched it go from a company that had a terrible reputation to becoming the best in the industry. They have a contract with my insurance company, which offers a zero deductible glass coverage), and he said that insurance work is nearly all of the business they do.

I'd been putting off getting the window in the truck replaced because it is always a hassle, drop car off, worry about car, get ride to work, worry about car, get ride to pick car up, worry if job was done right, take car home, worry if it was going to leak... etc.

Once I found out they come to me and watched how they do it, I'd have no problem having them do another one. In fact it's the only way I will go in the future.

I work at The Gear Works on S Portland St. My car is typically parked on S Chicago St though.

I'm sure you already know this but stay safe. There are a lot of boy racers (mostly Civics and Integras) who like to mess with other cars around here.

Had a few encounters where they tried to race me down Cloverdale. Also seen a few drive by my house and "scout" my car.

Awesome! Can't believe I didn't notice, but maybe that's because I was actually working, haha.
