No mr2 successor, no care

Cool, but not my cup of tea.

I don't car how light it is I would want more power than 135hp.

Tt3Sheppard 08-18-2014 12:32 PM

Somehow this will be faster around a track than the FR-S

I'm all for more lightweight RWD cars on the market (86, Supra, and now this). And from Toyota, no less!

This is starting to change my impression of Toyota as a brand. No longer just a manufacturer of FWD appliances.

Really interested to see how this develops and would unload my FR-S in a heartbeat for this depending on how it turns out! Like a better handling RWD DA Integra-RS! I had mine down to 2300lbs and it revved nicely with racing flywheel and was quicker off the line than my V6 Camaro...though it had 120'sh lbft torque.

Please make it a sexy coupe-hatch shooting brake design and fit for someone 6'2" !

And you didn't get an NA Miata because....?

Growing up, the family has owned: 1964 Lotus Elan, several old 4 speed Alfa spyders, several CRXs, integra Type R, S2000, NSX, Civic coupes, Civic Hatch and FRS.

I like small, 4 cyl cars with low HP. You can thrash on them, more fun at reasonable speeds, great MPGs, and easy to work on.

The next Gen Miata and now this are really appealing. I'm glad I have my FRS, gives me time to sit back and enjoy it until something else comes a long.

Exactly. Neither Drawing or mule are mid-engine. A hot hatch has its place but is NOT an MR2 replacement, and its place is not in my driveway.

The poll was suppose to be a multiple choice, sorry I mess it up somehow lol.

We already have two other threads on this car ;)

I really hope they make this car, although I'm not holding my breath. If they do, I reckon it'll be even more of a blast to drive than the FRS!

I hope it's not based on that concept car.

IMO, way too small to be useful as a hatchback. Perfect size for a little coupe or roadster, but not a hatckback.

gymratter 08-18-2014 05:42 PM

i hope it isn't a hatchback. Toyota already offers something similar with the xD and that upcoming Auris thats rumored to be badged a Scion in the US.

give us a small roadster, coupe, and shoot brake Toyota!!!

vh_supra26 08-18-2014 09:56 PM

How about a RWD sub compact sport sedan?
