Lowering Springs: RS-R Super Down vs Swift
 

hi all

I'm looking at a set of lowering springs for my wife's car. I'm contemplating RS-R and Swift because: a) I'm currently running RS-R springs, and I think they're all right in my car albeit a little jarring and b) I've heard a crap ton of good stuff about Swift - people telling me that the ride will remain closer to comfortable than any other lowering spring out there.

I'm hoping to get some information from people who have direct experience from both sets of lowering springs.

Which set is the more comfortable ride? My wife only cares about getting a comfortable ride, and I only want to kill the wheel gap. :D

Well no spring will be as comfy as OEM. If she just wants to be comfy, why not just leave the car as is? I mean, it is her car after all

She wouldn't mind it being lowered and a little firmer, but she wants the most comfortable lowered spring.

I had rsr super down springs on my car I thought the ride was fine. If you want comfort you should splurge for rsr black-i from what I hear they ride much better than stock and goes low.

FYI there are differences between springs, but they are more subtleties. The rule of thumb is, lower your spring, stiffer the ride. You also lose bump travel with lowering springs, so lower you go, closer you are to hitting the bump stops on your dampers. The swift springs will ride a little better because they're not as low as the superdowns.

I have the FRS spec swifts in my BRZ and love them. Smooth and comfortable, definitely much firmer than stock but they are not jarring at all.

No experience with RSR products. I felt the Swifts were the best on the market, along with the RCE's for handling so I waited for a good deal on one of those sets. :)
