Keeping The Wheel and Shifter clean
Ok so I hated this in my old car, but basically the steering wheel and shifter and ebrake would get all crudded up from sweat or whatever the hell else is on my hands. Does anyone know of anything I can use on it to keep it clean? I used to wipe it down but whatever I was using wasn't very effective.

i use leather wipes and they work great!! |
Oh I considered getting gloves, but I'd feel like a tool. Any particular brand you like? I don't remember what kind I had I just remember whatever it was wasn't very effective.

No armor all, got it. That's probably what I used, cuz I was young dumb and broke. I'll be sure to spring for the good stuff.

Lol, I usually keep a box of antiseptic wet towels in the glove compartment... Usually use it after touching those filthy gas station pumps. Just wipe your hands everytime, before you drive... Don't know if it'll prevent this but, better than nothing if you have no where else to wash your hands...

^^ correct, clean your hands regularly. Amoral is a good product but not advised on steering wheel or shifter because it makes them slippery as heck.

The armor all "make the shit all shiny and nice looking" wipes will rot your shit in the sun over time....its like putting butter on your shoulders and sitting outside all day.
The Armor all cleaning wipes (not glass cleaner), or whatever brand, on the other hand, I have personally had alot of success with to keep things clean, as they usually have a mild detergent. Small plastic can of them I keep under my seat for a quick wipe and toss here and there. |
