Not sure if I should wait until Black Friday or not.

Hi guys. I'm currently in the market to purchase new tires for some wheels I bought awhile back. I'm interested in purchasing a new set of continentals, and I see that there is currently a promo going on for a 70$ gift card after purchasing a whole set.

I'm not in a rush or anything. So I was wondering if that's a good deal and if I should go ahead and just go for it. OR, if I should wait until Black Friday rolls around?

I really haven't looked around during Black Friday yet so I have no idea what kind of deals will be available. If anyone knows or has a good idea on it, please let me know. I don't mind waiting for better deals, especially since it's right around the corner.

Well, what is the price of the tires? Most website will do a 10 - 20% discount for Black Friday, so it shouldn't be hard to do the math and see which deal will come out better. I would contact the website(s) that you're interested in purchasing the wheels from and ask them what sort of discount do they intend to offer customers this year, or (if they can't answer that) what has their discount in previous years been.

My guess would be that most places will offer a better discount around Black Friday - unless the tires you're after are on the cheaper end to begin with. If the tire's you're after are $175/ea, your looking at the same savings for a 10% discount. If the discount will be higher than that, or the tires are more expensive, you'll save more going with the typical Black Friday savings than you'd save with the special that you can get now. If the tires are cheaper than that, then the gift card is a decent deal - but then again, it's just a gift card and not cash, so unless you plan on actually needing to spend more money with the particular company, I would bet that sticking it out until Black Friday might be more lucrative for you.

there is very little margin on tires, so I doubt there will be a great deal on tires that you'll miss out on.

but, if you're not in a rush I guess it won't hurt to wait.
