Looking for some cheap (~$50) exterior mods to make the car my own :)
I really want to make this car my own and unique without over-doing it (in terms of both money - and straight up ugly).
I don't have the budget to buy a body kit (I don't really want one tbh). I plan to buy a rear diffuser pretty soon, as well as a K&N air filter (I know this isn't exterior). But that's what I like - ~$50 mods I can throw on once a month or so as I can afford them. Honestly I want to rice it up without being too over-the-top. I refuse to put anything on with words (stickers that say 'fresh 2 death' and that nonsense). I know some people will flame if you like rice or your car looks ricey, but FOR ME...I like a little rice.. So anywhere around ~$50-~$100 or so, let me know what you recommend! Preferably exterior BTW: I have a WRB if that matters :) |
sounds like you need to go crazy with a can of plastidip :w00t:

In addition to the center console plaques, Yospeed does custom door sill engravings. Shoot him an email to see if he would do one for you.
Sure, it's not "exterior" per say (as in only you would see it most of the time), but it'll put a little extra smile as you get in. It'll also make the car "your own" as you posted. https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...3c&oe=5691C26C |

Thank you all very much!
I'm fairly new to cars, as this is my first 'performance' car, so there are many things listed that I don't know what they are. Which means I get to do some research on them! I look forward to it, thanks again! |

OP looks like high school or new college kid to show off.
If i am OP, i wouldnt spend any money. save it up for one good part. |
de-badge your trunk. that's the first thing I did and it looks extremely clean. of course, I left the subaru logo on and just removed the letters. best thing is that it is completely free.

I was thinking about lowered springs, but 2 things: 1) I live in Michigan, and I would probably have to remove them come winter 2) I feel like the ride would be much bumpier/harsher than stock. Is that true? |

Dropped almost 2 inch's and am right across the lake from you. With good snows I didn't have a single issue and I drive 3500 miles a month. Depending what you get the ride can be almost as good as stock to bone crushing. Mine is almost as good as stock but with a little more stable feel in the turns. |

If that's the case, I may go ahead and get it.. |

I am far from an expert on the subject though as most of my old cars I worked very hard to get them up in the air not down but from everything I have read if you are going under an inch you don't need anything else anyway. |

Got the car and quickly drove it to formula Drift https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...78&oe=569F02CB Than a few months later https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...62&oe=56A58668 And than one year later.... https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/hp...21036768_n.jpg :D |
Keep in mind a $50 mod will look like a $50 mod. Kust keep it stock in the meantime.

Asking what can be bought for $50 is hardly a way to make the car your own. What you will get is what everybody else wants to make the car their own. Shouldn't have to go looking for ideas they should just come to you. Well the $1500 just means he has to save up $50 only 30 times. |
Plastidip something.
|
whatever you do, do NOT look at other people's build journals. you will most likely find yourself tossing away your self control and go on a parts buying spree lol
