There ya go, easy and relatively economical.......:) humfrz |
If your not sure exactly what direction you want to go I'd purchase a used OFT and start with an E85 Tune if you have a local source. It's cheap, it will help with the butt dyno and should you decide you want to go a different direction you can sell the OFT for zero loss provided you don't overpay. I got a screaming deal late at night within minutes of the device being listed, but they routinely sell used on the forums for 400-450$. Look at the for sale posts, they don't sit around long.
Until I go FI at a later date (or sell the car) this made all the difference in the world for me. I've purchased a few other items for cosmetic reasons but the OFT was the best bang for buck I've done. Like yourself I happen to like the handling of the car, and other than for cosmetics I can't drive the car at the limit of the stock tires to justify changing them out at this point. |
go for 16" wheels. Light weight and faster. tire tech has advanced. low profile doesn't do you that much anymore.

Look at STX builds. If you're not intending to race, you can do some other bits but my car is close to your list, though it's not 50hp peak power, just maybe 50 in the torque dip (and without a full custom tune yet, that's probably not there)
-100lbs? (battery, header, AP Sprint, wallet) and light wheels (TC105N), size plus wheel/tire bring weight back up, but it's 5-20lbs less than many run so I count it Solid bolt on power (Nameless header, full exhaust, grimmspeed intake, tune) Handling that's a few steps up (Tein SRC, proper alignment, tires) If I were tracking I'd take the weight hit for an oil cooler. If I weren't AutoXing I'd go E85. Car still gets the OK from my wife for road trips and is sooooo much fun. C |

-50 HP without a turbo is definitely attainable, i did with an ACE header front pipe overpipe and e85 with a good tune. -and isn't modding the process of changing the car to EXACTLY what you want the car to be? You tell this man to focus on what he wants to do and the mods will become abundantly clear- I think he knows exactly what he wants to achieve and now hes figuring out exactly what he wants to do - with our help.. and hopefully without getting pounced for some good questions. |
If you want to gain 50 HP and get rid of the torque dip, then the easiest fastest and cheapest way to go is the Phantom Electric Supercharger. It works great.
The only problem is the waiting list is over a year long. |

Me = 233 WHP / 207 WTQ - Phantom ESC + OFT on e85 + UEL. Stock = 160 WHP / 135 WTQ - Stock + CBE on same dyno Diff = +73 WHP / 73 WTQ Cost = less than $3000 + self install (2 hrs Phantom ESC + 1.5 hrs UEL) |
