Finally straight cut gears!

Found these surfing the net.

Good old forged performance. Can't even get the list of stock ratios correct.

They have the stock automatic gear ratios as the "standard" and then the straight cut gears they make have slightly longer ratios for 1-4, same 5th and slightly shorter 6th. Not bad... but $7K?!???

Well, if it's any consolation, that's in AUD, so more like $5k USD.

Im curious as to what other components are needed to make the trans hold 500+ hp on top of this.

It's the PAR set that's been available for a while now

Why would anyone buy a straight cut gear set without dog engagement?
Straight cut gears are hardly suitable for street duties.

djliquidsteele 10-05-2015 09:20 PM

Because race car?

If you require gears to hold 700+HP its really no longer a street duty car...

See this thread for a little more info. They have already been installed in the Revvolutions car.

Yeah that's his point. If you are using syncromesh in a high-speed race or drag situation, and are getting straight-cut gears, you would want to just go ahead and get dog engagement because it's far faster to shift than a synchromesh setup

It's kinda like getting a huge wing and saying #becauseracecar but then you don't have any mods that make it necessary so you're just slowing yourself down lol.

My guess is that they actually do drive it in situations where a dogbox would be really unpleasant.
