Uphill in the snow both ways
 

All joking aside, how well do the twins with snow tires do on decently steep hills? I live in a hilly area on the east side. Lots of twisties. Lots of hills. It would be my daily driver year round. Thoughts?

I take it to the mountain to snowboard with my none-stud snow tires, so just as good as anything else on the road if not better. Traction control helps too so don't turn it off!

Note, my refusal to drive in the snow in anything I care about has nothing at all to do with my ability or the capabilities of my vehicles, but rather my debilitating fear of the utter incompetence displayed by Oregon drivers even when traction conditions are adequate.

^lol... I also live in the east coast, and it snows pretty frequently near philly... I'd say if your starting from a STOP on VERY steep inclines you may have some trouble getting up... However with a set of good winters, and making sure you don't stop fully on a hill, you shouldn't really have any problems with this car... I've only ALMOST been stranded once on a hill but she managed to put her way up it in about two inches or so... It was probably about a 30 to 35 degree incline and I was starting from a stop... With that aside this car is amazingly fun to drive in the snow!

Snow in Seattle/Portland is really light compared to elsewhere in the country. The problem with this is that you have a lot of drivers that don't know how to drive in the snow. It's a good thing we own a relatively safe vehicle with modern safety features that is not rare or collectible. If your car was rare, had 10's of thousands in mods, or you can't drive in the snow I'd stay off the road.

The best things you can do if you aren't comfortable in snow driving is practice stopping in a parking lot, get off your summer tires, and maybe throw a couple sand bags in the back of your car. If it is really bad think about snow tires and/or chains.

I'll let you know after this season how it does on the hills, but I'll probably throw a couple sand bags in the back and rock the stock tires this season. My ZII's will sit happily in my garage till spring.

She looks so clean, do you drive it when the roads are clear? I would imagine a car with salt all over the front as a DD

We only salt our food in the Pac NW.
