Type of springs?

IM a DD, i have a scion frs with K&N air filter and will be getting magnaflow exhaust soon. I'm looking to lower my car about 1 or 2 inches. I am on a budget with the lowering aspect of this. I want to do springs but not sure what to get. I want to keep the ride quality (comfort) and performance. And just lower the car, but i do not want any long term problems arising from the springs. SO whats a good quality lowering springs for a good price??

1 inch drop and a 2 inch drop are big differences...

That's a really tall order. This car is only about 10mm off the bump stops from the factory. If you drop it with only springs you'll destroy the dampers, the ride, and the performance. You need something that also includes bump stops at a minimum. If you want to go lower than an inch, just forget the idea of springs, you will need coilovers.

That said, if you're willing lower it only 3/4 to 1 inch there are a couple of options. Eibach Sportlines/TRD springs,Eibach pro-kit, and RCE Yellows all include shorter bump stops. To my knowledge they're the only ones.

I have no complaints about my Hotchkis springs.

Trd or Sti springs, both are covered under your original warranty and are factory extras. Well under $300 cheaper if you look around.

so if i was to only drop it 1inch TRD springs would be just fine. Give me good quality performance and ride quality with a good looking lower look

Off topic. I've had two Magnaflow mufflers both of which have blown out. That is, both have gotten increasingly louder than when first fitted. Whether this is significant or not is owner dependent. While I quite like the the sound (apart from a little droning at a particular rev range) it is no longer legal dB wise.

dB is abbreviation of decibels. Decibels are often used to express sound pressure level. That is, loudness.

No, I don't mean the states.

By all accounts they should, but I haven't driven on a set of TRD springs. You should be aware that the TRD springs are the same as the sportlines, which could make it easier to find a good price and possibly take a ride in a car with them.

I used yellows and drove a car with the prolines. The yellows were far superior at just about everything. They weren't as low though, so it'll depend on your goals.

You should get steel springs.
