fix chips on my handle

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,

City parking looks to have been tough on my car and i have ended up with chips on my door handle. I am attaching a picture for your reference.

I do have a paint touch up pen and clear coat pen for subaru brz (got from dealer). I was wondering if these should be easy to fix myself or should I take them to a shop.

How much would they cost to fix if I took them to a shop? How easy would it be to touch this up myself?

Thanks for your help.

Well, that all depends how much you want to spend. Dealer would just have it sent off to any local auto body and have just the door handle removed and painted. It would take about 3 days and maybe $200.

Or you could just use the touch up paint and spend a few hours. It wil not be 100% but if you can't tell from three feet away no one else would.

I agree ......those look like a job for your touch up pen ..... ;)

I suggest you clean up the chips with alcohol ...... then have the most artistic one in your family/circle of friends, do the painting .....

Alcohol is involved in much of my car cleaning. I even use it on the cat itself once in a while.

Yet another vote for the pen. Follow the directions and the chips will be almost invisible. I think about 20% of my car is now done with one and the pen manufacture's stock is through the roof.

I would just repaint it since it's a small removable piece.

Time to buy carbon fiber ones! haha

I have some on my passenger side from the highway. I tried the pen but didnt clean the dirt first. It rubbed off sometime later, so make sure to clean it!
