Disable turn signal light when not blinking?

Hey everybody! I was wondering if there was a way to disable the turn signal light, making it only light up when you use the left and right blinker.

Basically I want it to always work like it does during the day with all the lighting off. Any suggestions?

wait... what? the green arrow on the dash? or the one on the exterior of your car? both of them should only light up when the signal is activated...

Disable turn signal light when not blinking?

He wants to disable the drl not the signal. I think there's a way to do it with electrical tape on one of the terminals to block the connection. Maybe someone who's done it can chime in

When you turn on your turn lights your signal lights up as well he wants to disable this and only wants the bulb to flash when signal is on not be on when he turns his headlights on

Wut? Do you mean the daylight driving lights? Or the fender side marker?

I think he's talking about is when you turn the headlight switch once the both turn signal lights on the outside come on and he wants to disable that.

If that's the case the only way I know of is to cut the wire at the harness that controls the parking light ( I don't know if that's. actually what's called ) circuit.

If someone knows of another way that's less destructive fill free to post it.

We carry single filament LED bulbs that would retain the turn signal feature and the marker light function will be disabled. Feel free to e-mail us for assistance.

You can shop any front turn signal LEDs from our website and you can simply let us know that you would like single filament and we will send you the proper LED bulbs with the marker light function disabled.

Any other method to do this without getting new bulbs?

You could cut the running light wiring out and just leave the turn signal wiring intact

Awesome! I will take a look at the wiring this weekend and hopefully cut the right wire!

Keep in mind you're disabling the parking lights and it likely wouldn't pass inspection because of this...

No need to cut any wires, take the plug which the bulbs are plugged into, locate the green wire, take apart the plug and remove the green wire (pin) and fold the wire back into the loom. Put everything back together, and it should only come on when signals are used. That way it is reversible, without having to use connectors.

I think you could also simply put a 7440 Amber bulb in to do the same thing. If it doesn't light, bend the pins back around the bulb.

...but like I said, you're no longer legal as you don't have parking lights.
