Gauge pods and airbags?
I want to install some gauges oil temp and a wideband. But I'm concerned about placement in the A-Pillar or the dash in front of the copilot becase I know that the airbags are located there. Would I (or my passenger) get hit by a the gauges in the event of a crash?
I know autometer has a pod that goes over the AC vents in the center console. I thought it was a good choice until I saw the top part that says autometer on it. and I'm not too fond of removing my radio to put the gauges there. Thanks for the suggestions. |
If you put them on the a pillar they would. If you put them on the passenger dash I'm not sure it would but I don't think so. The bag comes out from on top of the dash not behind the plastic cover

There is no bag in the A pillar contrary to what the marking says so it is the preferable place. The bag for the passenger does indeed come out of the dash but it comes out and down so the gauges could be a bigger problem there.
