Help! boomerang, sidemarkers, tail lights not working!
My side passenger sidesmarker broke off during a drive, and one of wires for the connector popped out. I tried to fix it, but only made things worse. for starters i ended up taking the whole connector off, and i accepted the fact i wouldn't have 1 side marker light. well its more than that now.
When i put the bumper back on i noticed the other sidemarker doesn't work, as well as the fog lights, the led boomerangs (2014 brz sportech) and just recently noticed the rear tail lights don't work either. What does work however is the LED DRL strip, the headlights, the brake lights and all signal lights work. At this point I'm assuming all the lights that don't work are part of one circuit and by trying to fix the sidemarker i have shorted something and blew a fuse? Electrical work is by far my weakest skill (if it isn't obvious already) and i could really use some help or suggestions. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! |
Go check the fuses, it's likely to be the issue. If it's not then let us know. Always check the fuses 1st, it's easy and usually the cause of electrical failure ;)

Which fuse would i check? Also how do i know that fuse is blown?

Yeah so it turns out the tail light fuse also controls the boomerangs side markers and fog lights as well. This really wasn't made clear anywhere. I got it all working again by replacing that one fuse. So if anyone ever runs into this issue in the future this will be here. The tail light fuse is the #4 fuse in the fusebox located by the pedals. Cheers!!!

You definitely saved my ass! I took my car to a shop to get body work done after an accident, and they messed with my wiring and my tail lights stopped working. Thanks to you and coming across this thread, I changed the fuse and my lights instantly work now!
Thank you! |
