RB V1 Fenders - Missing Piece and Scratches

So I ordered my OFFICIAL Greddy Rocket Bunny V1 Rear Over Fenders (yes, just those) about a month ago. It came in yesterday, but I wasn't home so had it scheduled for me to pick up tonight. About an hour ago, I finally got to go pick it up. It was in a huge box so I had help from the FedEx worker to just open to box there and load the pieces into my car (box will NOT fit in the FRS).

Anyhow, we opened the package which was secured with huge pieces of foam and whatnot. Opened everything and the first thing I noticed were pretty deep scratches on the fenders themselves. The fenders are black and the scratches were deep enough to feel and were grey-ish white. Smaller scratches could be seen that didn't penetrate enough to make a grey color. Second thing was THERE WAS A MISSING PIECE. The piece was the part that goes on the bumper. It's the tiny piece of the over fender that goes behind the main piece.
I immediately let the worker know there was a missing piece and he said there's a chance it was FedEx's fault as it was their packaging.

Everything else including the rubber lining and self-tapping screws were inside. No paper about the order, no serial numbers or anything.

Sorry, I'll update with more pics of the scratches when I get the chance.
Calling Greddy tomorrow and will also update.

TL:DR - Bought Rear Over Fenders, missing back fender piece that goes on bumper and also deep scratches on fenders.

Call me clueless, but isn't the intent to paint over it to cover any blemishes?

Why are you showing photos of the INSIDE of the pieces if there are scratches on them? Surely you don't mean that these are "scratches" you're talking about?

UPDATE:

Yeah, just got off the phone with them and the guy said some of them may have scratches, but it shouldn't be deep so he'll take a look at the pictures and he's contacting TRUST to see what they can do about my missing piece.

The thing I find weird is its labeled ft86 and there aren't instructions. Aren't most of the reps packaged like this?

Exactly my first thought, but the guy over the phone ensured me before I even asked that they don't come with instructions and its labeled now to differentiate from the V2. I know, I was pretty damn scared upon opening it. I believe there's a forum posting about the instructions as someone mentioned none were included.

I get the missing piece, but are you actually complaining about after market body pieces showing up scratched? The whole point is that it gets sanded, fitted, painted. Even high quality authentic parts are never going to be perfect.

I don't expect you to understand. The scratches are deep. Yes there are smaller scratches that can be sanded, but these look like they'll need some pretty hard sanding. I'm upset with that. How much sanding will it need? To the point it'll be weak? Again these are deep enough to feel and yes they can be filled if really needed, but I rather not have to go through or pay for that. This isn't against Greddy or anyone, but to raise awareness and see what happens in case anyone else faces a similar issue.

You're about to cut up/cut off part the metal fenders of a 2 year old or less car to put these on and you're worried about having to do some minor body work (probably just the gel coat on the fiber is scratched and easily repaired if its even that deep) on these fiberglass pieces?

FWIW, your body shop will take care of those scratches as its part of normal prep work before paint...

TylerLieberman 09-23-2015 07:09 PM

Yeah there's always going to be some flaws to work out with fiberglass. You said you ordered a month ago and they just got there. So they obviously traveled a distance from shipping. Wouldn't be surprised if one piece rubbed against another during transit and caused the scratches.

It happens. You're about to cut up a brand new car though. I wouldn't be so worried about a little extra sanding.

my fenders needed some prep work before paint and trimming to fit, its how aftermarket body parts work no matter who I've bought from.

Diode Dynamics 10-01-2015 03:46 PM

The bodywork is just as important as the kit itself, if not more important. A bad shop can make a great, authentic kit look like crap, and vice versa.
