compustar alarm issue
 

Hey guys, quick question.
I had a compustar alarm system put in to my 2015 frs(no remote start) but the installer ran into an issue when putting it in.
He could not get the doors to lock and unlock using the aftermarket remote. He had to leave that option off and I have to lock and unlock with the factory remote.
I had to leave so I told them I would bring back the car on Monday so they can get it figured out. Anyone have a clue as to why this is happening so I can tell them and save us both some time. Thanks

You may need a CAN-bus module in order to control the door locks with the alarm. When I had my Viper alarm installed, it needed two CAN-bus modules. I can't remember for which features, but I think it was one for the immobilizer and door locks, and another one for remote start. I also looked at Compustar alarms, and I think it may not have needed one or only needed one, I can't remember.

Thanks for the reply dys586 from what they told me they only need one of the modules if the car has push to start or to install remote start. Which doesn't apply to me but I'll mention that to them again tomorrow
